Role Overview

We are looking for a Battery & Energy Systems Architecture Engineer who will own the end-to-end battery pack & energy system (swap station), covering cell selection, mechanical and electrical design, manufacturing, testing, algorithms, and homologation. This role involves technical leadership of the battery pack team and close coordination with BMS, powertrain, homologation, and manufacturing teams to deliver safe, compliant, and production-ready battery packs.

This role owns the battery and energy system as a product, spanning battery packs, swap stations, and charging infrastructure, from concept to pilot-scale deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Battery Pack & System Architecture

• Own the overall battery pack architecture, including cell, module, and pack-level design
• Lead cell selection and qualification, including electrical, thermal, mechanical, and safety trade-offs
• Define end-to-end battery + swap system architecture

Battery Swap & Infrastructure Architecture

• Own end-to-end architecture of Pluto’s in-house battery swap stations
• Define electrical, thermal, mechanical, and safety architecture for swap infra
• Architect charging topology and power levels
• Define interfaces, communication, and authentication
• Design safety interlocks, fault handling, and misuse prevention
